Our Mission

We are making every effort to have QCMC take place as scheduled!  THERE WILL BE A CHANGE OF VENUE AS VANCOUVER ACADEMY OF MUSIC WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE MONTH OF JULY.  The website will be updated and registered participants will be kept informed when we secure more information.  QCMC might look a little different this year, observing all social distancing requirements, but we have the same great faculty and program which we are very excited to share with all of you!

Our mission is to nurture and inspire the whole person through chamber music. Regardless of age or level, chamber music is the ultimate music educator and at the same time the most fun! In chamber music, small groups of three to five players are formed, each player has a unique part which combines with the others to create a beautiful whole sound. Our unique method of carefully matching students’ levels and providing appropriate repertoire has resulted in years of happy musicians and lovers of chamber music. Our amazing faculty is chosen for their love of chamber music and inspiring teaching methods.

We are thrilled to be collaborating again with the Vancouver Academy of Music, centrally located in the beautiful Kitsilano area of Vancouver.    We will also be collaborating with guest artists from Summer Music Vancouver Festival, creating wonderful learning and concert opportunities for our students!

Among regular daily chamber music coachings are art classes, composition classes and guest master classes. The week closes with a student concert and reception on Saturday evening. Our camp is open to string and piano students between the ages of 6-20 who have had at least one year of private lessons.

We also feature a “Mentoring Quartet” program, a scholarship and stipend position consisting of 4 dedicated teenage musicians who will form a string quartet while gaining experience mentoring our younger participants.
