Lori Stringer

Art Instructor

Lori is currently a practicing artist living and working on Bowen Island, BC.  She also teaches art with the Island Discovery Learning Community on Bowen Island.  Prior to that she taught for the Vancouver School Board for four years, privately and for gallery programs.  She received her Bachelor of Education degree in art education from the University of British Columbia in 2002, and her Bachelor or Fine Arts degree with a major in Visual Arts from the University of Lethbridge, Alberta in 2000.  Lori has also studied art at Concordia University, the University of Calgary, and most recently at the GAGE Academy in Seattle in 2011. 

Lori is currently working on a new collection of Canadian landscape paintings, focusing on the prairies and B.C. Westcoast.  She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and has won faculty, gallery, and independent awards for her work.  You can find her work in private collections in Canada, the United States and Europe.
